Best / Worst Gift

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

The perfect gift is there ever a perfect gift? I have to think about this one. The worst gift those are easy. Pink elephant's gifts from the workplace or an ill-will friend. It's always easy to name those, vent about them until you can't hear the intention of the other person. The reality is we as humans never want to think we have been so mean that we deserved it. The truth is. We deserve the reality of the moment.

My best gift ever was one year when I was really ill with a bad cold, my boys (that's what I call my children. I raised young men. They acted mature and made me breakfast lunch and dinner. It was the best gift ever. They made coffee and toast soup for lunch and a light dinner. I could hardly believe that they could do such a thing. Then I realized. They knew more than I thought and they were maturing. It is both a moment of realization my young men were growing up. Do they really understand how great that moment was for mom? I doubt it.  Willing to bet other moms do. Thank you!

Did You Ever Listen To Stories In Childhood

Do you remember sitting, listening to stories of Christmas and all the tales of old and new? How fun it is as a child to hear ones parent read stories. The very voice of the parent comforts the child. most children that is unless they have been abused by a parent.

Children are conforted by love. Abuse produces the fruits of fear, self doubt, lack of trust, self denial. It doesn't allow a child to react or respond to a situation with the ability to react correct. One sees it in the classroom when reading children's stories. The most enduring stories can evoke a nervous or anxiety filled emotion when a child has been abused. The parent wanting more than the child is capable of producing causes mixed emotions within the child.

However, on the positive side. Parents who choose to love and nut urge their child will find that children will be comfortable being loved, hugged, and will allow the parent to nurture and meet their needs. As a educator this is one of the most exciting times I find during the year. The weather permits for greater bonding between parent and child. I find that children who grow up listening to story times and parents reading to them, have a greater tendency to become better readers. The better the listening skills the greater the development of reading skill. Studies have proven the corrilation between the parent and child relationship in reading and personal contact create a significant increase in intelligence or IQ. 

That's why this is one of my favorite time to teach. I loved being called out of the office to sub of a teacher. Why? I would be able to see the joy of the students and the excitement for life. We would get to talk about many things that are happening in their lives at this time of year, One of my favorite things to offer parents during this season is book sales. Our school would offer a variety of books for sale seasonal and non-seasonal. The parents would be able to come to school without their children and shop for books.  The books that offered stuffed animals or integrative toys was to help the story come to life in a child. Offering greater creative it's and delopment of the brain.  The one thing I always tried to encourage parent to do is to go beyond the stuffed animal or toy and see how pouch of the story the child understands. Did they get the meaning of the story? Can they draw a picure? Can they read the story to their stuffed animal. 

Play acting is an important part of growing up. Long before I new I wanted to become a teacher I would take all my stuffed animals and dolls and create lessons for them. I would create the lesson plan and implement it. It was lots of fun. I remember I had one teacher who was always yelling at all the children. I don't think I was conscience of it until my dad hear me yelling at the children in my pretend classroom. He walked over to me and asked me why I was yelling? I explained that was hold my teacher talked in class. It was the first break of the year. He immediately made an appointment with the school. Since their were no other teachers of the same grade, I had to stay in the classroom and finish out the year, however the principal was aware and her treatment of all the children changed. That's parenting! One does the best one can with what one knows.

I think that's why I fell in love with books! It's an escape to learn things only one can imagine. Wishing you a the best this holiday season. Much time reading with your children.

Are Apps Birth Contol or Abortion?

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

What did you say?  I can't believe it's true however it's true. I awoke this morning to the radio as usual when suddenly I am started at the news. What? I think to myself. She what? There is a Sweden woman who took numbers and rythem to the extreme. Here is the old school way of doing things.

Before going to bed put your thermometer at bedside and a calendar.Sleep your usual number of hours.  Wake up as usual, don't get out of bed. Take your temperature write it down on the calendar. It's that simple. Now track this for as many years as you want. When you start getting close to the time of your menstral cycle there will be a slight variation. That tells you you are feral. Here is the interesting thing. If you are trying to get pregnant you'll know when the best time to try is. If as a couple you are trying not to, well them you will know when not too. Understand,

What has me so upset.

1. I don't like when woman get charged money for something they can do for themselves for free. Think of it this way $5.00 per month for 12 months = $60.00 a year.
$60.00 per year times how many years will you be suing it? Do the math.

2. Apps are in the business of many money for themselves. Meaning they get paid by advertising or changing for the app. Not all apps are the same.

3. This log gets paid paid by its advertisers only when you click on n app. I wish I could say I was making hundreds of dollars on it. I'm not yet. I will tell you when I do.

4. The thing about the person I heard about this morning was she stayed away from her friends and colleges for a year. She tested the app and she is Tring to make her way to the stats. I believe it said she has something like 60 million following right now.

Know the intention of the apps your using, who is making them and what for. Is this a  value you want in your life. Honestly, I have had two miscarriages in my life and a young adult that passed away at the age of 27 too young. It's not much fun. Rejoice in All things I was told. Thank you, Lord. Not the usual response.

None the less ladies be smart, be street smart if you have to protect yourselves and your future.

Kiwi Banana Breakfast

Hi there Diamond Glamour Girls,

Your bestie here with a recipe for you. You know how much I love working with children and making life fun. Childhood is the best part of life. Saw this picture grabbed it. Here is the recipe I made up to go with it. Looks great taste even better. Summer time fun.

Ingredients: serving size 1

1 Kiwi

1 Banana

1 Lemon

Yogurt  ( you can choose the flavor) I choose plain.

The night before place the yogurt in serving size bowls. (Paper works it needs plastic coding)  Let it freeze.

Peel and slice Kiwi. Should get several slices.

Peel slice banana in half, then cut the 1/2 in half. Should have a quartered bananas.

Slice lemon in half. Take the half slice in half.

In a serving plate place aside.  Get yogurt serving from refrigerator.

Place on plate. Should come out easy if not tear paper off carefully

Place Kiwi all around as yogurt melts a little should be able to push gently in place. 

Use banana for legs and feet.

Lemon for head. ( for eyes cloves, chocolate chips work.
