30 Day Challenge - Day 17 OOTD

Dare To Wear Men's Underware To Work

Hi there Diamond Glamour Girls;

As many of you know bloggers and many meeting and event planners work from home. Home that four letter word that make everything good. For baseball players it's where you score a point. For computers it's a Hub. For Camera work  it's called a viewfinder. We carry home with us in our pockets, purses or hands. That Changes the meaning of home doesn't it. I want to receive money for my work. Don't you? That brings me to the point of this challenge. It's to attract as many advertiser clicks as one can to provide an income to live off of. If you would like to hear a little of what happened listen to https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/maria-kamon-mkpde-podcast/id1254532508 Make sure the music downloads to understand the humor of what she's talking about.

Today, since I work from home. Honestly I'd Wear the same outfit to a meeting just add jewelry and change my shoes.

Today my outfit of the day is.

Black Blouse by Zenana Premium (It's a little big on me, I though it would run small and it ran true to size.)

Short Pants by Liz Claiborne (not tight fitted and are about dress length) At the last place I worked men called my sorts men's underware . Then they Voted to not allow it, putting it in the dress code. Although I have short suits. Matching shorts and blazer. Very comfortable and practical for busy work places when you have to bend over. Like decorating a venue.

Shoe by Blue  Here are some other options they didn't have the ones I am wearing. Blue Shoes

What would I add if I had a meeting;
A blazer and some type of heal shoes. Probably my Patent Leather Sergio Booties. Then a single Diamond necklace, Diamond earrings, Diamond watch maybe a Diamond bracelet, afterall it is the name of my business. It's what people expect. I laugh at how arrogant that sounds. The reality is the challenged asked. Diamonds

Vendors...From and event planners viewpoint!

As a wedding, events, and meeting planner I am so blessed to meet and talk with many people. Some are honest. Some are not.

My favorite vendors to work with are those, that like I are thoughtful of the bride and grooms budget. Yes, we can all jack up our prices, yes we can 2x, 3x, the value, however in the average bride, with their families helping them it is about budget. Many people do not like going over budget. I am one of those. I enjoy making money, however I don't like making my clients feel like nothing cause they can't afford my services. For me it is about making people feel blessed with the portion God has provided for them. I enjoy, coming up with creative solutions to get the bride something she wants and yes that means sometimes doing it herself.  "To each their portion." Event planners love being extravagant, but sometimes blessings are greater when we are not!  Decor heavy events, weddings cost money.  Brides can save money by asking their wedding planner to help them come up with creative solutions to any type of decor. It depends on you, the client and your beliefs.

 MK Pure Diamond Events is considered a problem solver.  We are creative.  Enjoy working with our clients and love working with brides on a budget.  We know how to work with both family members of the bride and groom.  Sometimes we meet with all of them to come up with a solution that works with the whole family.  Most of the time we work with the bride and groom.  We attend, dress fittings, cake testing,  meeting with photography and videographer. We assist you with contracts and make sure that all of us are working as a team to make everything work for your wedding.

My goal as a wedding planner is to add the knowledge to help a bride and groom, be successful on their wedding day.  Both families working together to be happy for a moment in time is what I call "A Diamond Occurrence" success for all is success for the future.

Diamonds

Diamonds come in many colors;

White, yellow, pink and blue, purple;

People share in their desire;

I want!  I need!  Give me!  I’ll take!

The desire of the teacher is to impart knowledge,

The importance of the taker is that they will have control,

The importance of the want person is to show desire,

The person who thinks I need is to show the other they are all the same diamonds.

Every diamond has a personality, she like the person who chooses it.

But who is to say if it is right or wrong;

The need of each is to prove better than the others;

How sad it is that they don’t know how each is beautiful on their own,

When you look at a diamond look beyond what you see;

If you do you just might find you and me.

Diamond Glamour Girls Finances

The first thing Susie Orman would say is that smart women know how much they can spend at any time of the day.  My advice would be the same overspending is something our society would encourage, the bible discourages or at least says to be wise about. People as a whole need encouragement from others to stay on target with the things they desire.  If diamonds or glamour are your thing then do it with class and stay conscience of your budget.

Susie Orman has a book out called “Woman and Money”;   you can find it on her website. http://www.suzeorman.com/index.cfm   It is a great book and I highly recommend it.  Even if you don’t like the idea of being smart with money at least consider you future and what you want for it.  There is also great software out there which can help you with all kinds of financials, for those of you like me who get encouragement from the bible in times of adversity try “Money Matters”; you can find this software at:  http://www.crown.org , it relates it to practical biblical truths.   Also Quick Books or Quicken are good to have.  Both of these offer assistance, depending on what you are looking for.

Then when you have done this, knowing it fits into your budget, visit our website: www.mariakamon.com  MK Pure Diamond Events; diamonds to go with that perfect outfit for that special event you have hired us to plan.

What's in a name?

Hi there,

My favorite all time saying. What is in a name? Good question don't you think? Well, in 2003 I opened a business named MK Production Meeting and Event Planning. Since then many things have happened. Some good, some not. But the one thing that has kept me going was knowing that when I was a child my father taught me the importance of His name. Let me tell you my dad was not without sin. But he did know the importance of living a life as a believer.

When one is down, the people that love you really stick by you. Some people are afraid of adversity; this is what I have discovered, but other raise to help. Who are you in the lives of your friends during trouble times? Are you the type that goes in for the kill to cause more pain, or are you the type that assist and helps heal? What does this have to do with business you might ask? The truth is not much other than to speak of the importance of a name and the character of the person.

I am now trying to rebuild myself, knowing what my true strengths and weaknesses are. As difficult as it may be this time adversity...had a lot to say to me. From family, friends, and anyone who wanted to speak, so it would seem. My personality being the latter one described above. I listened and listened and have finally discovered the lies and the truths of what was told. Mostly, the sadness is for the loss. For when we are in battle, there is always loss. Whether it is a dream, such as MK Productions Meeting and Event Planning, or children who are upset, hurt and lack understanding of the difficulties faced, because they too felt difficulties. Not to mention the physical blows which pain the body. But with this comes standing firm on the rock which we believers are all given along with the promises given. My favorite is Jer. 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

When I ponder these thoughts which delight my heart, it gives me a joy so profound that today's adversity is not thought of and a knowledge that it will be overcome tomorrow. With these two thoughts I have begun a new adventure in my life. The first step is a business named MK Pure Diamond Events (I put my name on it, because I believe in Him who believed in me first.)
