SUCCESS

Hi there,

You know yesterday we talked about Goals on the anchor radio show and today we discussed success. What is success? How does one accomplish it. As we talked about yesterday you set a goal and don't allow adversity to stop. Please read the Goal blog for the details on how to set a goal.

1. Personally, I put the goals I want to accomplish on paper.
2. I add a date to it.
3. Break it down to smaller task.
4. Work on a task each day until goal is accomplished.

For example yesterday I wrote I want to save money. I could have made the choice to have a an elaborate breakfast because I was kicked out of the place I was living due to having to fix the air conditioning system. Instead I went and order a coffee and a scone this const me $4.68 saving me approximately $15.32. That might not seem as much, however if you start adding that 7 times it equals $107.24 a week. That I would say is a savings. That will add up to $5,576.48 dollars a year. Is that money or what?

Now others have a different way to look at it for example  7 Steps to Achieve Success but Brian or 7 Steps to Achieve Your Dreams Chris Wildnern both Good Rticles to read. THe more you read the more likely you are to find out who you are and what thoughts work for you in achieving your success. If you graduated from high school that great. You chose a career instead of college that's okay, nothing wrong with that. I'm sure your employer has a form of advancement  the company your employ. You just have to empower yourself and figurine out what you want. One you do figure the steps you have to take to get there and go for it.

For example to become a wedding planner there is a certification program one must take. Test to pass to qualify. They don't ask you for an advanced degree, they just ask you to attend, follow the lessons, learn, take the test, pass and then find employment. Don't make things harder than what they need to be. Just do what it is you want to accomplish.

Kate Spade Hits a Home Run

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

You know how much I enjoy a good story! OMG! This one is one that will be told for years! This darling little purse will be a collectors item. Why? She understands Mother's Day!

I am all for any child who would help out their mother and take a humming bird on the pursuant put him (humming) on a desert Flower. That's like . saying "Don't touch this." What was the saying years ago I think there was a song written about it. "You can't touch this." She's letting mom's know they are appreciated, loved and worth sticking any man who just wants her purse in the desert somewhere to see if they will get away with it there! To all the sons and daughters who help, love, protect their Mothers! Happy Mother's Day! You get what you give!

I always had a saying. "What goes around comes around."

What Is The Perfect Wedding Shoe

I saw this ad in an email I was sent "Wedding Shoes" shop now online. I began to think about what is a perfect shoe? What is it that woman look for in a shoe?  What makes are feet look beautiful? We woman want to look beautiful on our wedding day! It is the only day we try to make things perfect!

First, perfection is different for every woman! That means to some a simplistic wedding is perfection to others it is every detail in place! Large sums of money spent and follow all traditions. For me personally, since my father had passed away it was a church wedding with a church reception. No fancy dinner, no dance, just a college student getting married to her college graduate. My grandfather wasn't capable of walking me down the isle, sink had to ask my brother-in-law. He also sang "The Lord's Prayer" at our wedding. We dated since I was in high school. I have no regrets it was perfection to me. All a memory now.

I do remember when I was shopping for shoes how difficult it was. How do you pick a shoe to match a wedding dress. The last thing you want is blisters on your feet on your wedding day. That matches the dress. That make you feel like you can wear them all day and all night.

1. Comfort over looks rule! You'll be wearing them all day and all night.

2. Cost. This is where I think most woman don't think about. The average wedding shoe or proper shoe will run 10-15% of the cost of your wedding dress.

3. Fabric. The average wedding shoe is silk or satin. However, if you grew up with a dad like I had it was a beautiful hand crafted leather. Many come with embellishment. Many of my brides are wearing sandals (flip/flops) These are most appropriate for beach weddings or for dancing after the ceremony.

4. Dress Fitting: You will have to have your shoes before your dress fitting. The dress is hemmed according to the hight of your shoe.

5. Heel height, sexy heels or versatile flats?
What type of shoe do you want? You don't have to change your shoe style for your wedding day. Stick to what you normally wear!

6. Destination wedding! Consider the season! Will it be a beach wedding or winter wedding. Flip flops, sandals, or wedges are fine for the beach ankle boots or booties are perfect for winter weddings.

7. Dance or No Dance? This is important, why? The souls of the shoes and the ability to move in them can help or hurt you on the dance floor.

8. Do you want to wear the shoes again? Personally, I think it's a lot of money spent if your not going to wear them again. I wore my wedding shoes many times. It was one of the best investments I made! It was made with lots of love, determination and respect of what my father had taught me about shoes.

Star Gossip

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

It's been a while since I have had a bit of good gossip. You see the last time I posted a picture of an actor looking stupid and had a contest, no one found the picture if #JustinBeiber. Got to say the young man is trying his best, at least that is what he tells people and from the looks of it he does take good counsel.

Anyway, more to the title of this gossip blog. I just got this from the latest tweet one of the Top Most Famous Wedding Planner just got back from his honeymoon! Preston Bailey! I missed the wedding! Not sure why, but I didn't get a wedding invitation and now all the sudden I am good enough to get your honeymoon tweets. What the heck did I attend that and miss out on the fun of white water rafting! How was the River? Cold this time of year is it?

Anyway, best of luck to Next time send me an invitation, better yet I always fill us in on who was your wedding planner I would have preferred to seen wedding pictures than honeymoon!

Men of Integrity (Part 1) Wedding Plans

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls:

We all wonder what men discuss when they are together. Especially before a wedding.  Do you think think they have it ease then us woman?  Do you think they get away with things? What is your idea of premarital counseling? As woman is expected certain things,  men are also expected certain things.

B came home after her meeting with Pastor B and told her love. "It's your turn to visit Pastor B.?"  "Pastor B?  What are you talking about? I don't need counseling...that is something woman need?"  said Love "What? Do you want to marry me?" B asked.  "You know I do?" Love said in a somewhat condescending manner.  "I asked you, didn't I?"  Then make an appointment.

Nothing elese was said about the rest of the evening. They both went about their business. B didn't want to be consider a nag.  The next week went by without either of them talking about the subject.  B began to wonder how much he really loved her?  That is the typical thing women do right?  No...she was a little smarter than that.  Men of integrity she thought should not be nagged, they should want to do what is right.  Not only in the eyes of God but also in her eyes.  She waited patiently.  This was after all their "couple" act, okay other people had seen them and thought often as a couple. They had been dating for several years.  After all, they were living together.

B thought of her and Love as any other couple.  The only difference was she knew he was the love of her life. She had not thought of another since they were together.  She wanted to know if he felt the same, actions speak louder than words.  Since, she knew that if she force him, she would never know if it was something he wanted or if she was just not willing to do something this important on his own.

Let see what happens as the week continues....

Togs (Part 1 Men)

Hi there, Diamond

Togs defined as:
: clothing; especially : a set of clothes and accessories for a specified use <riding togs>

There is a traditions when a bride gets married she get a new clothing before her honeymoon.  From lingerie to everyday wear.  Things she will take on her honeymoon or business clothing. The tradition is there because she is a new women.

Do men have the same tradition?  Do they purchase new items for their honeymoon or wedding?  Since they are the ones that traditional propose, I thought I would take a look at what is new in fashion for the groom.

Men look out fashion designers are are taking tuxedo's to a new best.  Vera Wang is just one of them.  The cool thing is you can rent or purchase.  For Spring 2013 lighter colors are in.  For formal wear vest are in.

The tuxedo jacket is one that varies.  You can choose bow tie or traditional tie.

Suits are also a new option for the outdoor wedding, or formal event.  The suits very in quality, cut, and style.  Many men are choosing to purchase a great quality suit for their day then to rent a tuxedo.

Grooms and their groomsmen are choosing comfort, creative styling over the traditional lace up square toe or wing tip shoe.

Diamond Glamour Girls have nothing on men.  They have their own type of accessories.  Some traditional some not.  The main thing is for women to encourage their Groom to express themselves with style in their own unique way with their friends.  I have to admit the best weddings I have planned are those where the couples have a sense of self and a sense of them as a couple.

Thank you to Men's Warehouse, Encinitas California for the interview and allowing MK Pure Diamond Events to take pictures.

Dear Jounal (Part 3 The Struggle of a Bride)

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

Dear Journal;

I am so excited, got a promotion at work!  My boss thinks that because I am getting married I am more serious about work.  I explained that I have always been serious about work and have never let him or the company down, but somehow he equates me getting married with me being more responsible and mature.  How he got that idea I don't know.  I think it is a little sexiest, but I am not sure. He has never made any advances or said anything that I consider a violation.  I have to share it with my fiance and see what her thinks.  My boss said to me "For promotion cometh neither from the east , nor from the west, nor from the south..."  Then he offered me a promotion!  A promotion, now I even have more responsibilities.  More money is good I can help my parent pay for the wedding.

Dear Journal;

I shared what my boss said with my fiance and he says I am just being stupid.  I quoted what he said: "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south..."  My fiance smiled: He thinks I am making a big deal out of nothing.  What? I asked?  How can you say that.  It bothers me to know that just because I am getting married, suddenly changes me into something different.  Like I am not going to work the same. or that suddenly my work will be better.  That's stupid! I am still the same women.  Now, I am thinking I will be around two stupid men all the time.  One that thinks that a married woman is a better worker than a signal woman and the other one who thinks I didn't make a valid point.  Which is it?  Am I a stupid women, or a professional who gets thing done.  I can't be both. Can't wait to discuss this in marital counseling class.  Glad we are taking a year to plan the wedding.  I think I will mention it to the wedding planner to see if she has ever heard of such a thing.  I am not sure of what I am doing now?  What I thought was good may not be and what I thought was bad may not be?

Dear Journal;

After calling several wedding planners and comparing one with the other I finally decided to meet with one.  Excited to show her all the pictures I have collected throughout the years.  How I want this wedding to look and don't care about anything but making it my day!  The phone had a messaged, Pastors secretary called.  What could she want.  Will call her back tomorrow.  I am too busy today, have to get all my ideas together for the wedding planner.  Do you think it is anything like the movie?  Do I take him with me on the meeting?  Will ask him, but ever since he proposed and I try to talk about anything to do with the wedding all he says is:"What ever you want dear.  Just leave me out of all the details.  I will show up on the wedding day. That's good enough, right?"  I called her back again and asked her if I should bring my fiance.  She said yes.  The first meeting should be between the three of us.  She might have her assistant there, it all depends on what else needs to get done for other brides.

Dear Journal;

First thing this morning I called the secretary back.  She says Pastor wants to met with me without my fiance, he promises there will be another women in the room so don't worry.  He has something he really wants to talk with me about.  But doesn't want me alone when I hear. (Panic, I feel my stomach all in knots. ) His secretary said to me" Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the is its own trouble."  What could he have to say to me that my fiance can't hear.  Why would my Pastor be afraid to be in a room alone with me?  That's weird!

Oh Dear Diary

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls:

Have you ever written something like this:

Oh Dear Diary aka Journal,

I think I found him.  My prince.  My charming.  He is everything you could imagine and more.  His eyes are the dreamiest of colors. His lips they look the of my...OMG could I really write how they look, how they make me feel?  No of coarse not, what if this is found?  What if this is read by another.  What will they think?  What do I think?  Oh he is just everything I want.  He has a good job.  Good height.  Good bone structure.  I could really dress him up.  But my mind wants to dress him down.  Oh no, I hear my preachers sermon telling me to keep my thoughts in check.  How I long for companionship?  How I long to ..... I hear it again self control.  It was only the first time I met him.  I will write more later.

Dear Diary/Journal, (Actually I never know what to call you.  I am too old for a diary but journal sound like something my mother would do.)
 I saw him again today.  We went out to dinner and a movie.  We went for a walk afterwords looking for things to talk about we discussed all his favorite things.  He is athletic.  He treats me so well.  He went on and on about all the things he does with his buddies.  Does he know how much I want a hug?  A kiss?  All I can do is look into his eyes and dream.  Self control I tell myself.  Self control.  My pastor would be so happy with me and him we are taking it slow.

Okay Journal (I decided that is what I will call you....Journal)

 I decided I am a mature human being able to decide on a name to call you.  So what if when someone sees the name they automatically what to read it.  My mom was always so into my business.  I wonder what his mom is into.  Is she hoover over him? Does she watch over her son?  Does she pray with him or for him? Is she beautiful?  What is she like?  What kind of relationship does he have with his parents?  What kind of relationship will I have with his parents?  OMG! I am so worried about things that are not even hear yet.  Looking into the future as if I had a crystal ball.  Here it goes again that Pastor of mine shows up at my every thought of wrong doing or not. Okay, I know it is really the Holy Spirit within me but I call it my pastor because somehow my thoughts appear in his sermon.  I give thanks for anything in the future!  Not knowing what the future will hold with him and I.

Journal, my friend my best listener,

I haven't written in so long....  I have been so busy with the present.  I know you know, that I know, that you know, that God knows our every thought.  I know... I am finally happy.  He asked me to marry him last night and I accepted.  The ring is going to be the envy of all my girlfriends.  It is amazing, he knew just what I wanted.  Of coarse I dropped hints at every jewelry store we passed by.  I wonder should I get it appeased?  Insured?  But if I do and it isn't what I think it is will I be disappointed?

Best Listener, Journal,

I confessed to my friends and family, asking for advice about getting the ring appraised.  They asked me if I doubted him about the ring, what else did I doubt him about. I confessed, it is scary getting married and committing my life to one person.  I know, I know, it is God's plan for me.  But is he?  His perfectness is just so human now.  We argue sometimes about the stupidest of things and I get frustrated with how much he wants to take over my life.  My mom says I got to involved with his things and should have kept more of my girlfriends around.  The truth is I invited them but between my mom, his mom, and him, I just gave up pursuing my personal interest.  Is this right?

Dear Journal,

Okay, I decided I am absolutely going to marry him.  He is the one for me we start counseling aka marriage classes with our Pastor this week.  I am scared.  What if we find out we are not perfect for each other.  What if he sees me different after all this time, I have invested in him.  He is even dressing how I want him to now.  He looks so cute!  I can't get over how cute he looked in that sweeter with those eyes of his.  Any girl would be proud to have his arm around her shoulder.  I have to stop writing...my thoughts are back on flesh rather than what is right in "His" eyes.  2 Sa 7 :27

Men's Wedding ( ? Honey, Do we hire a wedding planner or coordinator?)

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

Ad imageBefore I started writing this I was listen to music, in the song I was listen to it was talking about  the things a man thinks about before he decides to get married.  In the song it talks about how he thinks about him mother, he thinks about the women in his life.  He does a mental inventory of the women he has dated.  But when it comes down to it he marries someone like one of the women he know or grew up with.  It might be his mother, it might be his sister, but either way it is finding a women that comforts him like in his youth.  He usually also knows the difference between a virtuous women (Proverbs 31:10-22) and one who is not.

Wedding Prayer
written by Robert Lois Stevenson

Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow,
for the health, the work, the food,
and the bright skies that make our lives delightful;
                                                                                                                                                                                                                for our friends in all parts of the earth.

I know that if a man can figures out what type of women they want to marry prior to asking the women, they also feel a sense of panic when that women turns into a bridezilla.  "Bridezilla"defined as: a woman planning a wedding overwhelmed with the decision making process, finances and everyone demanding a piece of her, her time, her money, most of all her attention.  As a cooping skill she can react in a negative way with those around her.  The panic within him make him question why he asked her to marry him in the first place.  It amazes me how many men question their whole relationship while planning their wedding.

Both male and female feel the same types of stress during the wedding planning process.  The both lash out in different ways.  Each person knows what they can handle, but only walking through the process do they become stronger.  There is no person that can teach us how to control our emotions, our being as much as there is a knowing that we will get through it all together.  During the wedding process grooms need as much assurance as the brides do.

The role of a wedding planner/coordinator is to ease some of the decision making process.  It is to assist them both to make the process better.  I often get asked what is the difference between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator.

Planner:
a: a method for achieving an end
b: an often customary method of doing something : procedure c: a detailed formulation of a program of action
 d: goal, aim
Coordinator:
1a: equal in rank, quality, or significance
 b: being of equal rank in a sentence <coordinate clauses>
2: relating to or marked by coordination
3a: being a university that awards degrees to men and women taught usually by the same faculty but attending separate classes often on separate campuses
 b: being one of the colleges and especially the women's branch of a coordinate university
4: of, relating to, or being a system of indexing by two or more terms so that documents may be retrieved through the intersection of index terms
 If you were to compare it to a football team.  The wedding planner would be the coach.  The coordinator would be the quarterback or the defense back.  If you look at if from a "band directors" point of view.  It is the difference between the drum major who call the songs that will be played and a member of the band calling the songs.  Who leads your wedding is important to you.  Choosing a professional will make or break your wedding.  Be smart and education yourself on what exactly you want assistance on before hiring and ease your stress during this season in your life.
 The saddest part about writing this blog, is realizing there are not allot of positive images of men and marriage.  If you look up Woman's Wedding Day you find all kinds of images, that relate to the happy occasion, but if you look up Men's Wedding Day, there are lots of the same images.  Woman for the most part try their hardest to think wonderful thoughts about the man they are about to marry.  Positive images help that thought.  We idealize about how wonderful you are even if it's not true.  We know that you are not perfect, like we are not, but we hope for the best and place images of how great it can be, when both work together.  In searching for pictures for this blog, I lacked positive images that men think about women.  All said and done it is really about "This girl loves her husband".  Men your bride needs you to think wonderful positive things about her too.

Vendors...From and event planners viewpoint!

As a wedding, events, and meeting planner I am so blessed to meet and talk with many people. Some are honest. Some are not.

My favorite vendors to work with are those, that like I are thoughtful of the bride and grooms budget. Yes, we can all jack up our prices, yes we can 2x, 3x, the value, however in the average bride, with their families helping them it is about budget. Many people do not like going over budget. I am one of those. I enjoy making money, however I don't like making my clients feel like nothing cause they can't afford my services. For me it is about making people feel blessed with the portion God has provided for them. I enjoy, coming up with creative solutions to get the bride something she wants and yes that means sometimes doing it herself.  "To each their portion." Event planners love being extravagant, but sometimes blessings are greater when we are not!  Decor heavy events, weddings cost money.  Brides can save money by asking their wedding planner to help them come up with creative solutions to any type of decor. It depends on you, the client and your beliefs.

 MK Pure Diamond Events is considered a problem solver.  We are creative.  Enjoy working with our clients and love working with brides on a budget.  We know how to work with both family members of the bride and groom.  Sometimes we meet with all of them to come up with a solution that works with the whole family.  Most of the time we work with the bride and groom.  We attend, dress fittings, cake testing,  meeting with photography and videographer. We assist you with contracts and make sure that all of us are working as a team to make everything work for your wedding.

My goal as a wedding planner is to add the knowledge to help a bride and groom, be successful on their wedding day.  Both families working together to be happy for a moment in time is what I call "A Diamond Occurrence" success for all is success for the future.

My Experience at the Bridal Bazaar (Part 2)

As you will see the decoration in the booth makes a difference.  The first booth I had was a balloon theme with an scan code competition for prizes.  Del Mar 2012, was an interesting experience and my booth in such a large place, seemed rather small and over looked.

                                                                                                   When I arrived at my space, I found a place I could decorate as I wished to represent my company, MK Pure Diamond Events.  As you can see from the decorations, first on the list to hang were the diamonds.  Little by little the booth came together.  Bridal Bazaar is an amazing company to partner up with for business.  They only want the best for their clients as I do for mine.

My assistance Princess Kayleigh and Princess Kristin, both modeling the “Princess Kate” Tierra are amazing with their personal skills.  This industry is perfect for them.  Princess Kristin is also employed for a PR firm.  Both ladies have great personal skill in relating to our potential clients. This business like so many others relates to people on personal bases.  We help people with their dreams.  We help them make them true.  My favorite part is when a client is honest with me about their budget and I help them make their dream come true, within their budget.  Helping them be good stewards of their money.  “Many believe they can’t afford wedding planners I believe; you can’t afford not to have one.”

Our booth ended up looking better then the last one.
 Goal one accomplished.
Our brides took many pictures of our “Bride and Grooms Table” flowers provided by Third Bloom. Home The jewelry in the background was and is on the website DiamondOccurrence.com it is part of the MK Pure Diamond Events branding.  We offer a service to assist wedding parties locate formal jewelry for their wedding.  Our neighbor in the pictures was “Grove Pastry Shop”, our other “Laser Away”.  Both company representatives were/are kind and thoughtful.  It was great being next to other woman who are about helping woman and others make their dreams come true.

As you can tell my overall experience with working with the Bridal Bazaar was to promote my business.  When promoting ones business, I believe we are only as good as those we associate our business with.  The “Bridal Bazaar” is one of those great companies, I loved doing business with.  They treated me as I love treating my clients.  With respect, honesty and accountability for assisting others be the best they can be.

New 2022 Blogpost will begin In June
