Favorite Gift Recieved

Hi there, Diamond Glamor Girl:

Did you know that today is a day we set aside t observe Ginger Bread Houses.

When you look at the house and where the stories of ginger bread came from you know it's a difficult task to bake them from scratch. That's why they market them and sell the kits.
One has to mix all the ingredients by having the correct measurements. You can't have too much or too little. You can over stir it or it will harden and the dough will be tuff or hard. Then you have to roll it out before cutting with cookie cutters. It has to be the same thickness for even baking.

The most difficult part is after you have mastered the measuring, the rolling, the  cookie cutter, you have to bake. Since it is difficult to see if you have over bake. You have to time it just the right amount of time. If you leave them in too long they'll burn. If the time is to short it cumbles.  The frustration is when you know you have done everything right and it still isn't correct. So you just have to do it again until you get it right.

The best part is when it's time to decorate it and the whole family creates their own part. To the average pastry chef it looks like a mess. To me it looks perfectly and wonderfully made. You ask me what is my favorite gift at Christmas. Spending time with the children and family I was given and doing silly fun things together. Isn't what the nativity is. The new beginning of a family?

Visit Canada and Celebrate 150 Years

Hi there, Diamond Gamour Girls;

There are so many places to visit in this great country's. From cold activities to like local shopping to cold activities.

Why am I writing a blog about Canada? It's not everyday that a country celebrates a hundred and fifty years. Everyone want to plan an event so I though I would plan a vacation.

Let's discuss dates:

1.  What dates do you want to attended?

2. What is our budget?

3. Let's start planning...

4. How many people attending,

5. What type of app shall we use? Hotel app? Flight app? Yelp for local restaurants? Shall we start with old school paper and pencil writing things down?  What else do you think we will need?

6. What app will help us in case an emergency?

Now we are ready, let's start. Let's plan for a family of five.  (All prices are estimates, therefore subject to change.)

1.  Flight :   $205.00 x 5

2. Hotel:     135.00/ night

3. Food:      $127.00/person / week

4.  Clothing:   What you need?

5. Car Rental:  $40-50 /day or $1000-1200 / week for RV rental

6. Misc needs.

The amount varies due to personal preference of families.. This is what makes it difficult in event planning as well. We can start to plan an event however each event has to be personalize due to the individual needs of the client.

Have fun vacation to Cananda.

Woman Who Work

 Hi there,

What an great thing this woman is doing to change the world for woman. Throughout history there has been changes that affect woman. At war time were the first changes. When woman stepped out of the home place and into the workplace.

Then again in the 60's when women tried empowering each other. Flowers power, peace love and the war that no one named a war ended.
Today, we have a young woman who is willing to talk about the executive live and how being a mom is worth learning to control your day.  This book is worth reading. You have to understand what it is like to be an executive woman and how to be empowered by change.

She is willing to help us learn how to do that and I am willing to learn. I don't have to be stuck in the past when I can be Empowerment by Today's Woman.

I hope you'll join me the next few Sundays for the discussion of her book. Listen on Anchor⚓ http://anchor.fm/Maria-Kamon-MKPDE

Slamming Doors? Closing Gently?

Hi there Diamond Glamour Girls!

As 2016 leaves and 2017 enters, we are blessed to think how important it is to let go of the things we can not change and accept the things,

Burns' original Scots verse

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll
tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stoup!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin' auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We twa hae paidl’d in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin' auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak' a right gude-willie waught,
for auld lang syne.

Now that you have read the lyrics, sit down and make a list of all the things you are willing to let go of. Make another list of all the things you want to keep. While your there, STOP and think to yourself, are  you slammig a door on that past, or just closing it gently to revisit another day?

God Bless! Happy New Years!

Cultural Difference (Identity vs Religion)

There are cultural differences that affect all of us.  Some of us accept others and some of us don't  Part of event planning is being able to identify the cultural differences and use etiquette or manners to identify, help, get the client or the customer through the event of their life.

What to say and when to say it can be the best weapon you have in the fight to have the best day of your life at whatever event you are attending planning.  An event planner who is sensitive to the needs of her clients is an event planner worth every penny.

Affection is one of those that each culture is sensitive about.  For example one culture it is totally acceptable to show affection, (hugs and kisses) where another culture it is not.  The difficult pare it when within the culture it varies between individual.  For example the stereotype of the latin women who shows affection to everyone, because they are kind.  In the Japanese culture greeting someone is not always acceptable.  A handshake is more a sign of respect and affection.

Acceptable affections is a multicultural acknowledgement.  Workplace affections:  What is acceptable in the workplace.

1. Greeting:  Meeting the person you know acknowledgment of their presence with a handshake. Greeting.
Hello Mr.... or Mrs.......   It is a pleasure to see you again.

2.  Time: Punctuality is the second most reason why companies fire an individual.  Be on time.

3.  Alcohol Use: When there are alcohol at an event attending.  Have a glass of your favorite drink, but limit yourself to drinking another beverage to stay sober.  No one likes a drink.  They might be the life of the party at the event, however the next day they will be the gossip of the office.

4.  Gifts: Bringing gifts to the event your attending. This is one you should take the time to find out if it is acceptable or necessary.  Some host may feel the gift is a sign of your generosity, while other feel it is a bribe. "As your host if they have a special organization they would like an money donated to or if there is something special you can bring to the event."  If they say no thank you.  Then accept it as sincere. If you are uncomfortable with this then purchase the gift and tell your host, I know you told me not to but it is my tradition and way to say thank you for the invitation and thinking of me.

5. Color: There is difference in color used as well.  A company in the United States may use a yellow tag on the product, however when they ship the product to a company in China it makes them instantly specious.

6.  Food: Food each culture has food associated with them.  Some cultures you are brave when trying out their food that may be strange or look different. Other cultures see it as peace offering.  I remember at my wedding I had a very American wedding, however we had to offer one thing that was of my culture, as a respect to my parent.  Business is the same way it is about the person you are attending the event for.  Also their are culture food noises is acceptable and a way of showing the person the food is delicious!  Americans tend to judge the person making the noises as not having manner, it is the opposite for some cultures.

7. Clothing: This too can be cultural.  One culture can find a business suit very appropriate for all occasions, Americans tend to dress up or down depending on the event they are invited to.  For example:  To one person they may attend church in shorts and t-shirt, another person may love dressing up or more formal to make it a special time.

8. It is important to know yourself what is acceptable to you as a human being, what you can accept, how you can relate to others, by respecting the differences and honoring their culture.

What About "Gay" Divorce

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

A friend of mine was sharing some insight into the new life that our industry faces. "Gay" marriages. Many in our industry have embraced it, many say it is another source of income, others are undecided and then there are those like me.  Who always had a clear thought about what the bible says a marriage is suppose to be.  How do gay marriages affect this, I know many religious and non-religious or spirit filled churches are in conflict, they have to stand with the bible.  It is the word of God!

Our law states we are to be supportive of the new rights of the human population.  I grew up watching civil rights and how hard people fraught for the simplest of rights, therefore that point is not the point of the arguments I am faced with.  If an officiant feels that her job is just to make sure the bride and groom are legally married and after that their obligations stop, what does a pastor feel?  During my marriage I remember looking for the pastor or preacher that married us.  I just wanted to share some thoughts of things that he had married us with and challenges we would come upon. He had passed away, I remember feeling sad at knowing he had gone to meet his maker.  sad because not only did I miss telling him how good he was about marriage counseling and how accurate he was.  He taught me a lot of biblical truths about marriage that I always leaned on during hard times.

What about divorce? The wedding industry was hit. Hard by the potential of how this will affect the industry.  Those wanting to make many have already begun the process of doing that by teaching people in the industry, the legal ramifications of "gay" marriages. Money is money right? The medium income for gay couple is higher than the average couple.

What about divorce I thought. To myself as I read all the legalities to the industry's new challenge. Are attorneys being trained on the rules to divorce a gay couple or have they been formed.  are the laws different from a man and women marriage.  There is ediquitee   In planning a marriage, does this apply in an "gay" divorce?

"Whisper"

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

Guess what? Today is that day when everyone goes shopping. Focused on the holidays ahead. Whisper, murmurs of what's to come. For this of us who think about what this "Holiday" should be about it is difficult to know that the reality is far from it today! Is the joy of the season with you? If not ask yourself why?

I once was in a place where I was asked to be a leader of a group, my choice from Gods people where to be a "Gossip or a Banana". I knew I couldn't be a Gossip because I was chasten for being that at another place of "Gods" people. They all "Whispered" about what had been done to me. You might wonder what had been done to me? "An elder of a church transgressed against me." I refused to gossip. The ladies of the church, the that knew my guess it was the elders wives because I didn't speak a word where all a gossip. Thank God for a church that believes in the truth because their board of elders who govern the elders of a church does wrote me a letter of apology! It is difficult to before a board of elders in a church as the only woman!

Whisper

someone deemed to be so insignificant that they are barely an entity; the only evidence of their existence is that someone somewhere heard a whisper of their name, long ago...

Or

Whisper
Quiet, Understanding person. Mediator and Advice giver to all friends and family.

The Bible says: "Now a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a whisper of it." Job 4:12

Does a Father dance with his Bride at a Wedding?

Let me continue my story, when I got asked if I wanted to be a gossip or a banana, I was already debated and had not healed from the last ordeal. You see I already knew my weekends. That was that I was "raped" at the age of thirteen. Knowing that my own children didn't know this I was just looking for a place that would let me, hear the truth. While I raises my own children. I felt a failure. Consider myself that today!

Truth be told some feel that my story is so terrible that it shouldn't be told. It shows how as Humans we are venerable, as a church we make mistakes in how we treat humans. That for some it is difficult to tell the difference between a church and the world. That to me is what sorrows the heart of God. "His" church should stand different than the world.

I the human needed help, so went to a one of "His" chosen to ask? "What is a banana?" Scriptural I knew what a Gossip was. Funny as woman we get asked to do strange things. I refused to gossip about a Preachers wife. 1. I don't ever position myself against the leader of the church. 2. I don't gossip about someone I don't know. When someone speaks to be I take them at the literal sense of their word. The person I went for advice. (2 Cor 8:12) His reaction was to laugh. Did I get advice? Did I get counsel? We prayed and left it at that.

Later, I confronted by the person I got who asked the original, gossip or banana? She was upset. I explained it again. Another adventure began to prove that I couldn't do certain things because of what had happened at the first church. Funny, salvation means you don't have to do the same thing over and over again. That's the definition of insanity.
Today, I am a gossip! That's all that is left! I work with police to tell the truth of any situation! To bring the past into reality, in order that I do not live the live of a victim again!

Thank God for "His" People and the truth! When someone tells you yes, let it be a YES when they say no it's NO. When they say they can't it means that to. Matt. 5:37 guess what this also stands true in a court of law. If you need to know why ask! If they don't tell you respect.  There are people in life that do not believe in going against a church! Why because it is the only thing left in the world that represents or at lest is suppose to represent Gods truth, even though the people are sinners just like me. Forgive me for the sin of "Gossip."
There are even songs written about the whisper know who's "Whisper you listen too!
