A Way of Escape...Do I need one from the past Fires

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

How many San Diegans are feeling the pressures today of the past. The past that will be in their lives for sometime until they can recover from it. Will the past come back to haunt them in the future? If so, why? Can the past hold you trapped without a future?

I have thought about many things, the thing that I have thought of most is how we get trapped in the past in the first place? Loving water my entire life, I love San Diego. Being able to walk along the coast and give thanks to the God of bigness that lives on the horizon. It doesn't matter where you look there is a horizon and you can't really see the edge of what is about to come your way. Somehow, that has always comfort my soul in knowing that no matter what happens in life, God will remain constant and bigger than my human body allows me to be.  At 5'5" approximately between 120 lbs and 140 lbs. when I look out at the ocean I see what I know to be true. I am so much smaller than the horizon. I enjoy this thought. Why?  It gives me a sense of wonder, excitement and the reality that whatever happens in my life it is small compared to the horizon. No I am not talking about the church. I am talking about perceptive. God's perspective. A clear perspective on my life. What I have to do to be right with my God, Jesus and how I was designed to life my life. Not my mom's life, or my sisters, or her children's or her husband life, or any of my families life.  Not even my ex-husband's life. I am thankful. That my ex-husband and I are friends and we help each other whenever possible, that both our children understand and help us whenever possible. Both of them know the truth and help us stay as a family. They are even looking for my new place to live while I am helping mom. Maybe she's helping me? Last night we had to call 911 her husband fell down and we couldn't pick him up. Shout! Thank you! He is okay. Either way I will eventually have God's perspective eventually again. That's God's perspective. Thats SHOUT! Thank You!

Footprints
It has to do with the life God gave me. How to take care of myself. My dad taught me what was right from wrong for the goals I have have before me. It is a way of escape from the everyday burdens. It is the way I stay! Maybe it is even a form of Judges 3:26. What it is to you is not what it is to me. It is a door, an opening a passage, into self perspective. At a time when I am in Riverside County, while I rebuild my loss of home in Encinitas, while taking care of my aging mom and her husband. It is the one thing I miss the most.

With the hurts from the fires many misplaced from their homes. You might be staying in someones house. You might be feeling uncomfortable. Maybe they won't want you to leave the bedroom after a while of staying there. There annoyed you there, yet you need finances to move and you haven't saved that up.  I know how you feel. I understand how much anger,
                                                    frustration,
                                                                    sadness,
                                                      brokenness,
                                                                     sorrow,                                                                                                                                      bitterness.

I thought I would share with you how I let go. All of those things stop the lessons to be learned, the joy to be gain in having perspective and a just measure.  Deut 24:15  I jog and/or walk my 3 miles. It gets all the negative feelings out.

Get this there is no easy fix to the fires and the devastation it left behind, other than to trust yourself and do one thing at a time. For today all I can do is......  One thing at a time.  In sharing this I hope you find peace. Peace to heal from the things that happened
that you had no control over. Love to talk you through it. Prayer to help you believe that God really is a Good God.

San Diego Croche

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls:

Have you ever known someone, but not really known them?  That what happened to many of us after living someplace for a long time. That is what happened to me.  The love of music is a funny thing.  When you also have the love of praying for people, in someway or another we are all "His" people.  We are all Gods people we would not have ever been born had we not been created.  I know there are those that would argue. When your young it is like that...

Croche, known by many of us for his talents.  His love of music and knowing how to speak to us with word and song.  How did we survive our youth, without his songs.  Saved many of us from the operator, from the reality, we were to young to really understand the words to the song, however these words spoke to our soul out innocence our love.

Now the new place San Diego Croche as I call it, but many others call it by its real name goes on to continue speaking to people in song.  Jazz is one of those that talks to many. Ingrid, how I applaud your desire to keep music alive for future generations. What a wonderful thing you are doing for our youth and those that know. The Musicians life is not an easy one.  Everyone wants and few give.  May you be blessed all the days of your life.

Named one of Top 3 Restaurant in San Diego  Croce’s Restaurant and Jazz Bar

May your dream...live forever! May we always be young at heart!

Hot Air Balloon Ride

San Diego County is known for its blue sky's, it perfect sunsets, it's Romantic moments, and what a better way to
To say I love you than taking a ride on a Hot Air Balloon. What beauty it is...romantic sky, romantic beach vie wand if permit if you can't toast to

To your future. You can see the look in her eyes as you, tell her I have a surprise for you...
Maybe I should say surprise him...woman do ask, invite men these days (technical difficulty). Either way, it's a great way to "Pop the question!". Get your worries off the moment.

Event planners, especially wedding planners with integrity do give their clients romantic ideas, things to do to help ease with the planning process of everyone asking. "I want!".

"I want, Give me, I'll take" brings out the bridzilla, crabby, bitchy, jerk, bastard, all those unattractive thoughts, name calling, ungodly, moments we have in live and allows you to really see
The truth in nature of what we are suppose to think about in life. It gives you time to reflect upon why we are, want to be with the person in the first place!

Think positive this New Years, think the thoughts you should have about the other person! Think MK Pure Diamond Events we just might believe you'll know the truth!
Love is unconditional, Freedom is priceless, your worth every penny of your event and Grace is what is given, when you know your "Forgiven"!

KISS (Keep It Simple Sister) The working Women and Fashion

One of the things most women have in common is fashion.  We love cloths, not for the reason one might think.  Things seem like one thing when they are another.  Today’s women have to be smarter than the other generations before them, so we think…  The truth is women are supposed to mentor one another.  Men are taught to go for things at all cost, but women are taught compassion, understanding, and wisdom.  Now what role does this play in the workplace?
I was reading the “In Style” the other day when I realized some things do not change throughout time.  Women love being respected for their work.  Cloths have a say in the perception of what we are trying to say.  In my younger years I loved color bright and beautiful.  Men confuse color with women wanting attention.  Don’t ask me why it just was, they think if we dress a certain way we are that.  As I matured in the workplace I realized being noticed by the color I was wearing was not the best thing for my career.  I wanted respect for the work I did, not the colors I was wearing.

This year Ann Taylor Fall 2012, has my favorite all time way of dressing.  My favorite way to dress is black and white with a pop of color.  I always found this way of dressing allowed me to go from work place to an evening meeting with will change.  It also got me respect.  Women respect one another in the workplace when one is trying to do the best work possible.  Competition is what it is, but respect comes from hard work, focusing on the things that matter most for the corporation you are working for and having your personal priorities in place.  Women supporting one another in the workplace is very important, earn the respect of your pears and you may earn the respect of person who is your supervisor.  The funny thing is there is a balance there.  Earning the respect of the pears cannot supersede your goals.  If the pear is disrespecting you then you have to call them on it.  I truly believe that when you call them on it, does it face to face and in privacy.  If it doesn’t stop then take to the supervisor.  Stand up for yourself but do it in a way you will still respect yourself.  In life, if you are battling for something you want and loose self respect, it’s not worth it.

That’s, my bit of advice…back to fashion.  Ann Taylor, this year’s collection is about sophistication and KISS mentality, Keep It Simple Sister!  She has designed collection that allows women to show off their s lines without being recycled, without being this thing….men want.   We are women with power and her collection lets other know it, without shouting it!  It is a quiet confidence.  It is here I am, I know what I am doing, and I do it to the best of my ability.  Ann Taylor collection this year has it all pearls, ribbons; scarf’s, shoes flats or heels.  It’s a business suit during the day and evening attire during the night.  The Hughes is rich, deep with wealth, richness and comfort.

My Experience at the Bridal Bazaar (Part 2)

As you will see the decoration in the booth makes a difference.  The first booth I had was a balloon theme with an scan code competition for prizes.  Del Mar 2012, was an interesting experience and my booth in such a large place, seemed rather small and over looked.

When I arrived at my space, I found a place I could decorate as I wished to represent my company, MK Pure Diamond Events.  As you can see from the decorations, first on the list to hang were the diamonds.  Little by little the booth came together.  Bridal Bazaar is an amazing company to partner up with for business.  They only want the best for their clients as I do for mine.

My assistance Princess Kayleigh and Princess Kristin, both modeling the “Princess Kate” Tierra are amazing with their personal skills.  This industry is perfect for them.  Princess Kristin is also employed for a PR firm.  Both ladies have great personal skill in relating to our potential clients. This business like so many others relates to people on personal bases.  We help people with their dreams.  We help them make them true.  My favorite part is when a client is honest with me about their budget and I help them make their dream come true, within their budget.  Helping them be good stewards of their money.  “Many believe they can’t afford wedding planners I believe; you can’t afford not to have one.”

Our booth ended up looking better then the last one.
 Goal one accomplished.
Our brides took many pictures of our “Bride and Grooms Table” flowers provided by Third Bloom. Home The jewelry in the background was and is on the website DiamondOccurrence.com it is part of the MK Pure Diamond Events branding.  We offer a service to assist wedding parties locate formal jewelry for their wedding.  Our neighbor in the pictures was “Grove Pastry Shop”, our other “Laser Away”.  Both company representatives were/are kind and thoughtful.  It was great being next to other woman who are about helping woman and others make their dreams come true.

As you can tell my overall experience with working with the Bridal Bazaar was to promote my business.  When promoting ones business, I believe we are only as good as those we associate our business with.  The “Bridal Bazaar” is one of those great companies, I loved doing business with.  They treated me as I love treating my clients.  With respect, honesty and accountability for assisting others be the best they can be.

My Experience at the Bridal Bazaar (part 1)

There are many different experiences a event planner has, but one of the ones most profound experiences is when you have to represent your business in front of hundreds, possibly thousands of people.  I started planning for this from the minute I finished the first one.  I knew I had to step things up, have my assistants help me and talk to as many brides as I could.  So in this plan to make things better for my business, hoping I would get more clients I decided to video some of the steps I take to plan an event.  I treated my company as it was a client.  Before you continue this blog, I have to ask you to forgive my video taking skills, as you will see you need light in the room for the video to come out clearly and at 4:30 in the morning the light was...you'll see.

I thank God for my assistants. Kayleigh and Kristin their youth and excitement for this profession makes me remember all the good things in life.  On the first day both of them were busy and could not help out on the set up part of the day.The next couple of videos came out a little better...it was around 7am and the sun was up.  Trying to do it all myself gets a little much, I say this in just.  I don't ever try to do everything myself.  I work with many wonderful vendors, photographers, videographers, florist, and wonderful people that are all in the business of helping others.  We all love to make our clients have a special day and memories that last a lifetime.  Second step was to gather all the things I would be taking for the event.

The third step was putting it all into the car.  Event planners not only purchase, rent materials but they also have to prepare things so they look perfect for their clients.  On an ideal event we get to prepare the venue the day before.  Reality being what it is it is usually the day of the event which means that the day of the event we are working a 12-16 hour day.  When we are hired for the "Day of " event it always brings a smile to my face because we are limited what we can do.  MK Pure Diamond Events "Day of"  Events always start with making sure I can attend the rehearsal so I can met the family and see, understand how the bride wants things to run.  It is also making sure that day things get started off to a good start.  I do not stay for the completion of the event or the clean up.  The bride and groom are totally responsible for this.  Here is a clip of what the car looks like with all the things loaded up for the Bridal Bazaar.

The day of the Bridal Bazaar Bridal Bazaar August 2012 was filled with excitement, anticipation and hope for my future and that of the ladies working.  Like Van Gogh, Monet, or any other great artist.  An event planner sees things in an artistic manner.  We look at the space we are renting much as an interior designer it is a way to express ourselves.  The décor is an expression that can make or break our business, if we don’t represent ourselves, can we represent our clients interest well.

We decorate our space, like an artist paints her/his canvas.  The colors, proportions, design, scale, height, width, depth all of this plays with our senses, letting us express emotions, relate to people and share a special moment in time with them, creating a memory.  Memories are the meaning of life.  The bible tells us “The memory of the righteous is blessed.” Prov10:7  As you read this blog, I hope you are blessed.

Prior to the event, with months of planning it took several days to find, purchased and design the things we wanted.  In the video clip you can hear me describe that I awake at 4:30 in the morning to put things together.  Trying not to wake my neighbors I put all the items in my car and drove to the San Diego Convention Center.  I wanted things to be perfect for the brides and was trying to make sure I got to the appointment on time I got there an hour and a half early.  This ended up being a blessing because I was able to go to a local restaurant, relax and have breakfast.  Got to share with you MaryJanes  best breakfast in san diego coffee shopclose to the Omini Hotel has the best coffee ever.  It is not bitter and rich in flavor.  I am pretty picky about my coffee so that is truly a compliment.

Back on track with the Bridal Bazaar, these ladies could not have made it any easier for the vendors.  MK Pure Diamond Events MK Pure Diamond Events arrived was told were to drive my car for unloading.  I loved it!  I didn’t have to lift, carry or take anything to my booth.  I was so impressed I can’t tell you how happy it made me.  By the time I parked my car, all the items I needed were at my booth.  It was such a great experience.  Event planners are always catering to others and making sure every need is met, but this time, my needs were being met.  Wow.  It's great when people help you out.

I have to give credit to the ladies at the Bridal Bazaar, they run a program that is amazing.  It is so well run that they know all of their vendors.  They treat them with repeat and help all of us when we need it.  I am so excited to be a part of one of the many vendors the Bridal Bazaar represents.  I hope for many years of doing business with them and pray that God will bless all our businesses.

MK Pure Diamond Events would like to give a big THANK YOU to Patty, Betty and Linda at the Bridal Bazaar for all you do for us vendors.  Answering all our questions, helping us become better for our clients.

I would also like to give a thank you to the Pastor that taught me "All things are possible."  you know who you are.  Love to you and your family.

Honeymoon

I asked myself…what I know about HONEYMOONS.  I finally realized I know nothing.  On my honeymoon my husband and I called home to see if our new home was ready to move in when his sister said whatever she said, that caused our honeymoon to be cut short.  Who leaves their honeymoon early?  Honestly, we did.  Today I realize that the Honeymoon set a foundation for the relationship.  It is one of those moments in time that when things get difficult it is something you booth have to talk about it.

Here are something’s I would do different if I could.  This is not meant as a complaint, more like if I knew then what I know now.  The wedding and honeymoon are a reflection of the people in the relationship.  What is important to the both of you?  If you are people who like being with each other and want to shut out the world then do so.  Maybe a quiet, intimate wedding and honeymoon is what is perfect for you.

If you are a person who is budget conscience, then plan a small wedding and spend most of the money on the honeymoon.  It is a time to make all your dreams, plans, thoughts of what you both hope for in the future.  It is a time when you should both be equally having fun.  Not one better than the other.  The honeymoon should be a place you both should enjoy spending time together.

Know if you are the type that has a large budget, go for it.  Go Big!  If you go Big on the Wedding, then you have to Go Big on the HONEYMOON.  Why? Hum!  The honeymoon is where you booth start your real life together.  The wedding is the dream.  It is beautiful, lovely and should be everything you both ever wanted.

HONEYMOON, have traditionally been about what the man wants.  That is no longer true.  Men and women desire time well spent on their honeymoons.  Imagine a large wedding spending thousands of dollars and then coming home to a flat.  That how the future thoughts of one another will be, flat, she will blame you, you will blame him, etc.  Big weddings need to have Big Honeymoons so your high expectations of one another can continue.

Setting expectations:  What are their expectations to be set in a HONEYMOON?  We have wedding expectations, why not honeymoon expectations.  How will he perform?  Right!  Men wonder this about woman all the time.  Does your man wear the right lingerie to light the flame within you?  Does he expect you to wear the lingerie and do all the work to get him aroused?  If he expects this from you, are you not supposed to expect it from him?  Equally yoked right?  Expectations of one another are set by so many of social expectations that I make my clients have time to speak to one another of their desires.  No, I am not there when they are talking about it.  But I do help them find help if they are having difficulties talking about it because family members have their expectations as well.  To be able to discuss, communicate with one another on expectations for ones future is the beginning of a relationship that works for both parties.  If you can’t talk about the “HONEYMOON” the relationship part of it all, you just might not be ready to get married.  The “HONEYMOON” is something a couple should be able to discuss throughout their whole marriage.  Without it the marriage is questioned.  Mainly it is questioned within the couple, when the couple is made to doubt about themselves then the world (family, friends) question.  Mainly, because we speak of this to our friends trying to correct it, if you can talk to each other about intimate things at the beginning of the marriage you should be able to throughout your marriage.  You can always start the conversation with remember our “Honeymoon” discussions.  We each have an obligation to ourselves, and our partners.  In Christian marriages it is to our partner and then us.

How to Hire an Event Planner

Posted by Maria Kamon www.mkpurediamondevents.com, www.mariakamon.com, www.meetingnevents.com
From Rob Harb, former About.com Guide

Whether it's your first time hiring an outside event planner to help you with an event or if you only need to occasionally hire someone, it's important to make sure you hire the right person or firm. This doesn't have to seem like a daunting task, but you should make sure you spend time sourcing the best event planners and then screening them carefully. After all, even those who are seasoned pros at this have stories they can share.
Simply follow these steps.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Biggest Tip: Plan Ahead
Here's How:
  1. What is your event objective?
Most people think that hiring an outside event planner or caterer begins by determining the event's budget, but the truth is that it's more important to begin by defining why you want to hold an event in the first place.
Before you reach out to an external or even internal resource who will help you plan that event, you want to be in a position to share the important goals of the event: answer your own relevant questions about who, what, where, when, why and how. There will be plenty of time to make adjustments.
  1. Why are you hiring an event planner?
Once you've defined your objectives, a few clear ideas will begin to emerge about what theme and message you want to convey at your event. But most importantly, what activities and services do you need the external resource to handle on your behalf?
Will they help with selecting the venue(s)? Will they build menus and make those recommendations? Are they helping with creating important communication items, such as invitations and other event materials? Do they need to source entertainment and speakers? Will they be needed on site at the event? Will they handle event registration?
  1. Okay, now it's time to estimate a budget.
Based on your event objectives, it's possible to create a general sense of how much it will cost for various elements of your program. This will vary based on the type of event you are hosting, and what it includes.
Many people who organize an event for the first time often fall into the trap of wanting to plan a champagne event on a beer budget (no offense intended to beer-themed events - we love those, too). Even that's possible -- not easy, but possible. And that's why many people turn to their event planner for help.
  1. Source a qualified event planner.
Oftentimes people think that word of mouth is the best way to hire an event planner for that anniversary party, breakfast business meeting, weekend retreat or other type of event. While it certainly helps, this is probably not the most effective approach.
If you're trying to find the best event planner for your event, then it's best to research someone who is experienced and holds a strong reputation within the community of event planners. Word of mouth provides an opportunity for easy sales for a planner wanting to find new clients, but peer reputation is very effective.
  1. Source event planners through professional affiliations.
Regardless of whether it's a social event or a corporate meeting, generally speaking, the rules of hiring an event planner or caterer remain the same. You want to hire someone who has expertise in your type of event.
Consider chapters of professional membership groups. Check with the national or local chapter of Meeting Professionals International, the International Special Events Society, the National Association of Catering Executives, the Association of Wedding Professionals, etc. It's also relevant to find out who is publishing articles in their industry.
  1. Source event planners through local CVBs, chambers and hotels.
Perhaps this one is overlooked the most. If you want to know who has a reputation for delivering services or expertise in a particular market, check with the local convention and visitors bureau. Many event planners are active members. They also maintain relationships with local chambers of commerce.
Another way to source experts is to reach out to the hotel convention sales department. While they may want to help you, they understand that many organizations want to consider an outside resource. They'll share with you who they trust.
  1. Interview three qualified planners.
Wow, we've only gotten to the point of sourcing and we're just on step 7. It gets easier. Most event planners will be eager to hear about your specific event, but provide them with brief details at first, and focus a bit more about their expertise.

Meeting Clients in Today's World

With our economy being what it is in order to get the client one has to become more creative than the other person. Some business bring in the clients by their advertising or incentives, other use gifts, trinkets or the latest fade Twitter, Facebook and social media.
The most reliable source we can hope for as business people is our client word of mouth. The clients we treasure the most are those clients that take time to get to know us. As a meeting and event planner our clients are priceless. The service we offer is so personal for each individual. It deals with the client’s finances, sometimes personal history or business history; it involves their name and reputation. It is of the utmost importance that we treat each client with care. For we are representing them, we are another voice for them, an extension of business. In some ways meeting and event planners for the sake of that meeting or event we become a part of their branding. It is only with the permission of the client that we can advertise our own business at their event. Usually this is done as a trade for additional service. What I have done in the past when a client allowed me to advertise at their event I would offer an additional service for free. For one client it might be a discount in printing materials, in another it may be an additional follower. Either way, whatever is given should be upfront and part of the contract.
Here are some forms of advertisements that might work. In meeting and event planning referrals are the best. However the next form of advertising that brings in clients is working with the Better Business Bureau, the third is paid advertising. For the corporate meeting planner, traditional advertising always brings in the most clients. Business hire meeting and event planners when their business does not have personnel, time enough to plan their meetings. As a meeting and event planner we strive to offer our clients another way to grow their business. Promotional meetings, thank you dinners, client appreciation socials, are just some of the ways event planners can help your organization.
Next time you are thinking about promoting your business. Consider hiring a meeting and event planner and having a promotional thank you or client appreciation social. This will say thank you to the clients you currently have and a great way to ask for referrals.

Vineyard

Vineyard

By Maria Garcia-Kamon

As a meeting and event planner we get to visit many places.  The amazing thing is everyone assumes it is this glamour job where big money is made and were fancy cloths, commercialism is the big thing.  The reality is for me it has never been so much about the things but about the people I meet.  Their spirit which I am so bless to be with.  Sometimes we click and sometimes we don’t, that is where grace is on those moments were we don’t get along but we still make it work for the client and for His name sake.

Today Good Friday was one of those days, when His spirit was there, in a vineyard at a wedding.  I was there to check out the venue for an upcoming event. Not really thinking about the day, the hour or that there would be a wedding there.  I knew it was Good Friday; I received my pastor’s tweet.  I thought to myself after I check this venue out I will attend service at noon.  Here is the story that I am sadden about, but none the less true.

“And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment”

Was I this man, or woman, am I not prepared for the things to come.  Did I not pray to HIM all of my life?  What authority am I walking in?  With whom am I walking?  These are questions we should all ask ourselves from time to time. It is because of HIM that I have since a child felt safe, since I was hurt.  It is true, recently I have been through a great deal of trepidation, but I always believed I thanked Him daily.  Was this not enough?

It was wonderful to see HIM again even if was for a moment.  HIS grace is amazing and His love profound, deep and sensitive. HE is gentle, what every beat up woman needs, what every child should know, see and feel, what every adult should desire to become.  HE walks with me at my lowest of moments and HE carries me when I can’t walk anymore.  I am on this day and forever always thankful I know HIM who lives in me and mine.

Today, I think I was the one not dressed for the wedding!  So glad I will be there on Easter.

Top 10 Wedding Trends for 2012

2012 is getting ready for the biggest wedding season it has ever had.  Business is great for many industry and the wedding industry is at its full bloom.  From movie stars to the girl next door, woman are smarter, wiser and more savvy then ever before.  Spring is always a time to tie the knot.  I have to admit, I wish I would have had the resources woman have today when I got married.  From movies, TV shows, books, magazines or just bridal fairs.  Education is the key to picking a good wedding dress to wedding planner.  Although I considered myself a traditional bride with a conservative approach, I tell my brides and families that I am planning a wedding for to think about the love you have for your family, friends, and most of all the groom you are about to marry.  Too many times we as humans are focus on the money part of things.  If you talk to couples that have been married a long time, they joke about the things that went wrong that day but what they do remember is the look in the grooms eyes and how he made them feel.  These things money can't buy.  If you talk with us that have divorced we would tell you the same thing if we let down our guard long enough.  Your wedding day is really all about how you think of it.  You can look at the bad, the cost, things that went wrong or you can remember what it meant to you.  I say educate yourselves, be informed and then make the best decision possible.  Then you will be able to live with the choices knowing you did the best you could with what you knew at the time.  That's the blessing from knowing we loved.  The article below speaks of the trends for 2012.  Brides hang on it is one of the coolest seasons I have seen in a long time.  Then call MK Pure Diamond Events 619-549-1656

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- From bewitching, fairy-tale-like wedding dresses channeling Snow White and The Huntsman to bachelorette parties with The Hunger Games action, TheKnot.com (NYSE: XOXO - News), the #1 online wedding planning resource, today released its annual forecast for the hottest wedding trends for 2012.
“Weddings have been sexy and bold, but now the world is ready to embrace the traditional…with a modern twist, of course,” says Carley Roney, cofounder and editor in chief of TheKnot.com. “From the long-lasting ‘Kate Middleton Effect’ on wedding fashion to romantic watercolor details and a 1900s-inspired panoramic wedding portrait, expect more classic and formal wedding details for 2012. Just remember – brides will still take certain elements to a whole new level, like once-in-a-lifetime mega-moons or even The Hunger Games-style bachelorette parties.”
Here’s a look at the top 10 wedding trends for 2012:
1. “Snow White” Wedding Dresses: Buzzed-about movies Snow White and The Huntsman and Mirror, Mirror will inspire 2012 brides to wear wedding gowns that are light and airy, but with a mysterious and sexy vibe. Vera Wang’s stunning witchcraft-inspired 2012 wedding dresses will be the bride’s first stop.
2. Enchanting Flowers: The magical settings of these Snow White-inspired movies and even much-anticipated fantasy film The Hobbit will have an effect on wedding décor, with brides opting for a woodsy vibe. Think: soft, decadent bouquets filled with flowers like cabbage roses, peonies and dinner plate dahlias.
3. Watercolor Designs: On dresses, invitations and table designs, watercolor touches give weddings the perfect creative bent for 2012. A-list designer Carolina Herrera showed stunning watercolor prints in her spring 2012 bridal collection. And the color palette to do this in? Pastels like pink and lilac are the “it” colors of 2012!
4. The Hunger Games-Style Bachelor Parties: Forget strippers and booze, the bachelor and bachelorette party of 2012 is giving way to The Hunger Games-style action. While ladies are channeling their inner Jane Bond via programs like Stiletto Spy School where they get to learn defensive tactics, high-speed stunt driving and MacGyver-like survival skills (all while rocking a dress, of course), guys are finally fulfilling their lifelong fantasies of race car driving, learning how to play poker like a pro and even, believe it or not, herding cows and sheep.
5. The Bombshell Bride: Marilyn Monroe wooed a president, was featured on the cover of the first issue of Playboy, is the subject of Oscar-buzzed movie My Week with Marilyn, and is going to make an especially big impression on brides this year. The beauty icon’s ability to accentuate her best features, signature pouty lips and slinky dresses (we especially love a number from Reem Acra with a sexy slit up the side!) are the perfect inspiration for bombshell brides.
6. The Panoramic Wedding Portrait: Just like critically acclaimed movie The Artist was shot on film without sound, the trend in wedding photography is to steer away from all the overdone effects (like odd angles and lots of added filters). Instead, photographers are shooting turn-of-the-century-inspired wedding portraits with a formal, classic approach. One shot that’s totally mantel-worthy? A panoramic wedding portrait where every single wedding guest is in the photo.
7. Ritzy Ranch Weddings: The setting? A 200-year-old barn complete with long exposed-wood tables, large chandeliers and ambient lighting. The flowers? Lace-wrapped bouquets of wild roses, lilies of the valley, Queen Anne’s lace and gardenias. The food? Delicate wild game like juniper-spiced venison, cider-braised pheasant and pan-roasted quail, Top Chef: Texas-style. Brides will be channeling the Old West with a rustic-elegant spin à la Lauren Bush and David Lauren’s recent nuptials.
8. When Harry Met Sally-Inspired Video Trailers: When it comes to wedding videos, it’s not something brides are watching after the wedding anymore. Couples are filming their love stories à la When Harry Met Sally and then showing snippets of it in video e-save-the-dates and having it screened at the wedding…all while guests are being filmed watching it, of course.
9. Long Sleeves & Lace: Brides can thank Kate Middleton and the latest Twilight installment for this wedding fashion trend – long sleeves and lace! Strapless dresses will still rule the bridal aisle, but expect more coverage for 2012 with a sexy twist. Think: sheer backs and illusion sleeves. And don’t be surprised if the look of lace pops up on everything from the wedding cake to the décor.
10. Mega-Moons: Sri Lanka? Check. Patagonia? Check. All in one trip? Check. That’s right, for 2012, brides won’t be settling on just one dream destination, but instead, they’ll be opting for a round-the-world getaway to several far-flung locales. Plus, they’ll be virtually bringing their friends with them via social travel apps that crowd-source friend-approved recommendations from resources like Tripl and Gogobot.

The 7 Principles of Business Integrity

The True Nature of Integrity!
Now you are probably asking yourself, what is the true nature of integrity? There are in fact some very basic principles that surround the qualities of business integrity. At its core, integrity begins with a company leader who understands the qualities of integrity which then filters down throughout the company into every department and every member’s approach and attitude.
In recent research performed by the Institute of Business Ethics- an organization which is among the world’s leaders in promoting corporate ethical best practices, it was found that companies displaying a “clear commitment to ethical conduct” almost invariably outperform companies that do not display ethical conduct. The Director of the Institute of Business Ethics, Philippa Foster Black, stated: “Not only is ethical behavior in the business world the right and principled thing to do, but it has been proven that ethical behavior pays off in financial returns.” These findings deserve to be considered as an important tool for companies striving for long-term prospects and growth.
The following 7 Principles of Business Integrity are the basics of integrity and a good starting off place to consider. By integrating each of these principles within a company environment, the result will be nothing short of a major rebirth of the enterprise.
Principle #1 Recognize that customers/clients want to do business with a company they can trust; when trust is at the core of a company, it is easy to recognize. Trust defined is assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of a business.
Principle #2 For continuous improvement of a company, the leader of an organization must be willing to open up to ideas for betterment. Ask for opinions and feedback from both customers and team members and your company will continue to grow.
Principle #3 Regardless of the circumstances, do everything in your power to gain the trust of past customer’s and clients, particularly if something has gone awry. Do what you can to reclaim any lost business by honoring all commitments and obligations.
Principle #4 Re-evaluate all print materials including small business advertising, brochures and other business documents making sure they are clear, precise and professional; most important make sure they do not misrepresent or misinterpret.
Principle #5 Remain involved in community-related issues and activities thereby demonstrating that your business is a responsible community contributor. In other words, stay involved.
Principle #6 Take a hands-on approach in regard to accounting and record keeping, not only as a means of gaining a better feel for the progress of your company, but as a resource for any “questionable ” activities; gaining control of accounting and record keeping allows you to end any dubious activities promptly.
Principle #7 Treat others with the utmost of respect. Regardless of differences, positions, titles, ages, or other types of distinctions, always treat others with professional respect and courtesy.
While it is most certainly an integral and positive step for a small business to recognize the significance of integrity as a tool for achieving its desired outcomes, that is only the beginning. What must truly be recognized for true success is that while certain precise universal principles lead to business integrity, it is in the overall mindset of the company and the unfailing implementation of these key elements that an enterprise is truly defined. A small business that instills a deep-seated theme of integrity within its strategies and policies will not only be evident among customers, associates and partners, but its overall influence cannot help but to result in a profitable, successful company. By recognizing the value of integrity, and following each of the aforementioned 7 principles for achieving integrity, your success cannot be far off.

Fall 2011’s Most Wearable Trends

by Susan Cernek

Fall 2011 Fashion Week—or, as they say in the biz, Fashion Month, if you include the London, Milan and Paris shows!—isn’t yet over, but we can already spot more than a dozen new fall trends that we can’t wait to wear. Here, the most stylish—and least scary!—of the bunch:

As I was looking up formal fashion wear for this article I came across the above website, that expresses the fashion trends in London, Milan, Paris, the three top fashion places in the world. The exciting part is that it is exciting to look at these fashion. One can not only be admire the creativity of the fashion, but this year you a can actually imagine yourself wearing it, not like other years that the fashion trends of Europe does not apply to Californian's.

If you were to purchase one of these dresses, which one would you purchase. My favorite always for mature women is the black formal wear. However, there are so many youthful, glamorous fashion. I love the fact that this years collection can go from workplace to evening by changing the accessories, like little coats, jackets, shoes, or jewelry. Think of yourself in the fashion and then add your personality.

For example, the little black dress can be worn with diamonds or pearls. It is all shine. If you put little red shoes it changes the whole thing. Or you can wear black stockings and shoes and you will have a monochromatic look. Either way this dress is totally glamorous! Now if you look at the white and black dress, how cute is that! I can actually imagine a young professional wearing this to work. Take off the petticoat (funny that is what we use to call it) put on a short jacket and it is work ready. The young professional who has an evening event can add the petticoat, formal heals, take off the little black jacket, put on a cute hat as she has an your ready to be the queen of the evening event. All formal is not length, it has allot to do with how you conduct yourself in public. Business evening meetings can require the professional women to think about not only her image but also her reputation. Somethings never change. One of the biggest things that you want to have to succeed is your reputation! Guard this. This dress does that. It lets the people know "I am in control". I know what I am doing as a professional and a successful woman, doesn't let her emotions show in public. This dress has that flare about it that says "Look but don't touch! Respect me!" It is the power we have in business and in life. Ladies empower yourself, cause you want to make money. Education will open the door but image, reputation and the manner in which you conduct yourself will help you stay employed.

Research who you want to be, makeup you mind to become this and my favorite saying is just do it! These fashions for Paris, Milan and London are totally do able for a reasonable price.

How to Find, Choose, and Hire a Wedding Photographer

Hiring a wedding photographer is usually near the top of the list for brides, grooms, and their families as they begin to plan their wedding. And for good reason: Many years from now, the photographs will be among the most important and concrete reminders of your wedding day. On the other hand, you don't want to unduly stress the first year of marriage with depleted financial resources, resulting in part from a bloated wedding budget. How exactly to find, choose, and hire a wedding photographer is critical to managing this budget, and the best answer may not be the same as your first impulse. Whether you're ready to go all out or need to look for alternatives to make your wedding ends meet, here's what you need to know and what need to consider to make the best choice for your wedding:

Pros and Cons for Hiring an Amateur Wedding Photographer
It's not hard to decipher the pros and cons of hiring an amateur photographer. You've probably heard horror stories of the entire photo collection getting lost or destroyed. Yet, in reality, these stories are few and far between and are by no means exclusive to the amateurs. Just because someone doesn't earn a living as a wedding photographer doesn't mean he or she is incompetent. Plus, the possible savings are impossible to ignore, especially in today's economy and the still rising costs of wedding ceremonies. Of course, you may not have a candidate with the prerequisite skills and availability to do your wedding.

More than the photographs themselves, you may lose precious time for the evening's festivities by hiring the amateur photographer. Even friends of the family with impeccable photography skills may carry at least one inherent downside: For events like weddings, the photographer needs to have the authority to command people in various arrangements and conduct them off- and on-stage as needed. Friends of the family, especially ones with gentler personalities, may have more trouble with this than you first realize. Professional photographers know the score, have seen it all from members of hundreds of different families, and, most importantly, won't have to spend the holidays with members of the wedding party for decades to come..

Hiring a Professional Wedding Photographer
The single, biggest con of hiring a professional wedding photographer is the cost. Knowing that you'll have dozens, hundreds of professional-quality photographs from the father-of-the-bride giving away the bride to the quintessentially adorable flower girl is an immense relief in the chaotic stress of the wedding day. You make the memories, and the professional wedding photographer will capture them. But just how confident do you need to be in your photographer? Do you need dozens and dozens of pictures or hundreds and hundreds? Do you need the same quality of photographs for the reception that you do for the ceremony? And do you need photographs that could grace the cover of a magazine or simply your everyday wedding album? Depending on the answers to these questions, you could end up talking to a wedding photographer who submits an estimate of $1,500 or $15,000.

WeddingPhotography Options
Whether you're talking to the most exclusive photographer in town or your college roommate who's always had a passion for photography, you need to know which photography services you want to solicit a reasonably accurate estimate or to determine how much your college buddy deserves for the job. You probably already know that event photography, especially wedding photography, involves a lot more than pointing and clicking the camera. But have you considered the level of service you need for all of the following options:
How many hours do you need the photographer for? A couple hours or all day? How many preliminary meetings and how much pre-planning are needed to put your nerves at ease?
How many guests and members of the wedding party will there be? You may also want to break the wedding party and families down into sub-groups to help estimate the total number of photographs and allotted time for post-ritual posing.
Do you want professional prints and touch-ups or will a raw CD suffice? Do you want a storybook DVD of the best pictures?
Does the venue lend itself to composition or will extensive planning be needed? A terrace overlooking a beautiful landscape or city skyline will make things a lot easier than a church located on a crowded city street.

Getting Inspired

10 Unique Ideas for Positive Thoughts
1.       Earn your wing.
Overcome your negative thought live by choosing friends that think the best of you.  Read material and information that challenges not only your thoughts but motivates you to try new things.  While you try new think, think positive thoughts about yourself and others.  Such, as I can do this.  I will do this.  And everything will be okay once I have done this.   Have faith, good things come to those that believe.
2.        Meet in the middle.
As you are on your way to becoming a new you.  Realize that meeting is the middle is the best you have.  Don’t compromise your values or being for others.  Negotiate with the end result in mind, always respecting yourself first.  Even Christian values teach us that we do not have to become a door mat for anyone.  The United States of America is all about freedom and justice for all.  Freedom to try new things is acceptable; give yourself permission to be okay with who you are.  Past things people have said about you don’t matter.
3.       Create Child like Enthusiasm.
Remember the first time you road a bike, how excited you were?  You might have fallen, scarped you knee but mom or dad was there to help you, cheer you on, encourage you.  Well guess what, you probably got up and road the bike again and felt good about your accomplishment.  This is how you have to feel about what ever new venture you are trying.  Mom’s always cheer for their children’s accomplishment.  Adulthood is about learning to cheer for yourself.  You don’t have to brag about it you just have to self talk and tell yourself you are better for tiring it.  You’re great!
4.       Dive Right In
Pick the new thing you are going to do, and as Nikes ad once said:  “Say just do it”.  Make sure you feel good about your accomplishment of trying no matter what the end result is.  This may sound controversial but the first time we try something we are never perfect.  Therefore, keep a positive attitude and keep trying until you succeed at your goal.  Eventually you will have accomplished and achieved the goal you had in mind.
5.       Hitting a Home Run
Your home run is never what others want for you.  It may not even be described or look like what you thought, but it will be something in the vicinity of what your end goal is.  For example:  I knew my whole life I wanted to children.  A boy and a girl.  I had my goal and dream since childhood.  Guess what the goal was accomplished.  I have two wonderful sons.  Both the kindest most loving sons a mom can ask for.  Did I plan that they would both be boys…no.  Did I achieve a lifelong dream…yes.  Was it exactly what I had planned for not really but the beauty and perfection that God created within them I would never trade?  They are fearfully and wonderfully made and I thank Him daily for them.  I know the goal and my accomplishment shared with you is personal, but other business goals came true as well.  Like owning a successful business, this also was a lifelong goal.  It’s come true.  I am blessed.
6.       Make History
To live life is to make History.  There is world history, personal history, financial history, make sure the history you are creating is set on the foundation you want.  Mine was on Christian values.  What will you be?  Ask yourself questions, not just superficial questions but valuable question.  Like what do I believe in?  Where do I want to be when I am 20, 30,40,50,60,100 years old?  Then plan, set your goals, faith come in your goal meets will, avoid detours (others ideas about what you should or should not accomplish) tell others your goals are set and you will get back to them when it is accomplished.  Believe in yourself all that is good.  God is good.
7.        Spotlight Success
To help you realize your accomplishment.  Keep a journal.  If you do it on the computer make sure to back it up.  When you have moments you feel you haven’t accomplished a goal or everything is going wrong, look back, give thanks, and know it is time to set a new goal.  Successful people live in the moment, while knowing each person has a path to take.  Some seek fame, money, others peace and joy, “Merely Christianity”, whatever your thing is know this is what you were meant to accomplish.  Thieves my come and go but grace and mercy live forever.  So show yourself grace and mercy.
8.        Use the Law of Attraction
When I was a Mary Kay consultant this is the first thing I learned.  We attract those that think like us.  It is a like minded society.  In Mary Kay when you start building friendship or a team and you have a dozen women you are responsible for and you look at them you discover they are all like you.  This is one of the greatest, silliest blessings.  Like minded people attract like minded people.  They may come in different sizes, look different, but their values are similar to yours.  Good thoughts about self help you get the goal you want.  I highly recommend you think good thoughts about others and it will reflect greatly upon you.  No one accomplishes goals without meeting others along the way that helps us.
9.        Reach A High Point
When you reach your moment of glory, that special moment when all things are working for you and not against you.  Bask in it.  Enjoy it.  Quite yourself, give a silent thank you to all those that help you accomplish your goal.  Know that for some this is as good as it gets.  Journal it, in detail remember all the little moments that got you to where you are at. Shine!  Your are at the greatest moment of you goal.  Know that there are more goals in the future to be accomplished.  Start working on the next one.
10.   Fly High
This is a moment when you feel you are soaring through the sky.  My father called it an eagle’s moment.  So USA, don’t you think?  He loved those moments in his life and taught me to appreciate them.  He was my best teacher.  My father’s influence in my life was what help me cope after his death; from the bible, to setting goals, keeping accountability of myself to the gratefulness of the appreciation for grace and mercy in my life and in the lives of others.  His encouragement in my life was priceless. That is why I am sharing it with you.  Enjoy it; once you fly high you will never want anything else.  Whether it is an accomplishment in your child’s life or a signing a big contract making the most money you have ever made, fly high moment happen all the time.  Keep your priorities straight.  Mine where always God first, family second, career third.
