Slamming Doors? Closing Gently?

Hi there Diamond Glamour Girls!

As 2016 leaves and 2017 enters, we are blessed to think how important it is to let go of the things we can not change and accept the things,

Burns' original Scots verse

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll
tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stoup!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin' auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We twa hae paidl’d in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin' auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak' a right gude-willie waught,
for auld lang syne.

Now that you have read the lyrics, sit down and make a list of all the things you are willing to let go of. Make another list of all the things you want to keep. While your there, STOP and think to yourself, are  you slammig a door on that past, or just closing it gently to revisit another day?

God Bless! Happy New Years!

White Christmas 2016

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

White Christmas!

One of the classic christmas songs, the best song ever written. I have always loved this song and thought it to be one of the best songs ever written. It brings to mind, all that is good about the holiday season and that even when you are not the religion of the time the true meaning of Christmas is what it is really about. If you have an understanding of that in life, you win. What is the true meaning of Christmas? Presents? Money? Possessions? Food in abundance?  Family? Food? Poverty? Changes?
Life? Diamond? Gold? Houses? Cars? Money? What is the true meaning of Christmas for you.

I learned very young in life, what it meant to me, Maria Kamon. I wish you this year 2016, that you learn what it really means to you?

Dreaming White Christmas!

Irving Berlin wrote the lyrics to "White Christmas" in 1940. Bing Crosby, who starred in the 1942 movie "Holiday Inn" with Fred Astaire, sang the song for the movie, on the radio and recorded it for Decca on May 29, 1942.

Being Jewish, Berlin could draw only on what he remembered of Christmas celebrations in his neighborhood during his childhood. When he auditioned the song in 1941, he expressed concern that it lacked something. However, Bing Crosby assured him that the song would be a hit. "White Christmas" remains Bing Crosby's top-selling recording and the top-selling Christmas single of all time as of May 2015.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

The Munday of Life.

Hi there, Diamond Glamour Girls;

It's the Christmas Holidays and we are in all the planning of life. Sometimes in the midst of planning I take time out to do others. Things that will help me think better.

Here are a few tips. Things things you can do when your in the middle of getting ready for the Christmas season rush.

1. Take the time to put things away. I understand that your busy and the holiday season comes and goes quickly. Take the time to file the receipts away.

2. Do this while your waiting for the cookies to be made or your watching TV. As woman we always get called out for being multi-taskers.

3. Find a small place in your house to put all the unwanted things for the season. One of the places I found useful to put away all the everyday items was in the coat closet. Nice neat boxes. When guest arrive you still have a place for their coats and it's not likely they will be going through the closet looking for things.

4. Bathrooms taking out the old and putting in the Christmas decor.  It's the perfect time to clean up all the items your children don't use or your husband no longer uses. The under the sink area is a nice little temporary storage place for items you are not using for the season. Let's face it we all have guest that like going through bathroom cabinets and drawers just to find out what you and your family uses. Crazy Aunt Sue.

5. Crazy time to think about it. However, it is honestly one of my favorite times to work on my taxes. Once everything is is place the evenings are quite, the kids are busy I enjoy to start planning for the next year.

There are my 2016 recommendations for 2017.

Clean, File, Prepare, Plan

Happy 2017!

What Is a Friend to Do?

I have often thought about what defines a good friend?
I meet people everyday, as I walk or eat lunch.
What is a good friend?
These things you begin to understand when you are going through changes that no one expected.

I have decided that a good friend is best defined in times of trouble over times of peace in ones life.
The friend that was with you in times when your business was good, doing well or the friend who sees trouble in the horizon and disappears.

Lets face it we all have both. The truth is those that are good friends have a certain character traits.
What and how do you define a good friend?
Is it a co-worker?
Is it your sister?
Is it your neighbor?
Is it an old boyfriend? girlfriend?

Here are some things I feel are important in a friendship.

1. Trust which is built over time.
2. Honesty which is built through trust.
3. Integrity...the person says what they are going to do and do what they say.
4. Understanding your friend should understand that not everything in your life is about a good time.
5. Emotion Not only understanding, having the compassion enough to understand when you are okay, doing well and when you are not.

Short list isn't it. However with out these things you can't develop a normal human emotion called love.

Co-workers

I recently took another employment and have never thought of this word so much. Co-Workers. The thought of this got me thinking about what does it really mean today.

Co worker defined is "another person you are forced to be around 40 plus hours a week in orde to earn a paycheeck. Outside of work, you would NEVER want to associate with this persson except to the point to them and teell the police, Yeah, thers the idiot that stoe your squadar right there officer."

That was an unexpected find in the truth of looking up the definition of things today. Wow, I think to myself. How many of us really take the time to think about what our children think about the people who work with them. What an awakening thought. That my co-workers just want from me. They didn't choose to work with me, someone else choose for them.

However that is the reality of the workspace. What now?

Make the best of it.

Get to know your co-worker.

That is the only advice I can give. The reality is it takes time.

I haven't come up with an original receive in a while. here is one that is quick, easy and I know the hunger children will enjoy as an after school snack.

Is it healthy? Nutritional? Yes and No. it has PeanutButter that's healthy. It is not recommended for the children with peanut allergies.

Taste really good.
You will need the following.
1. PeanutButter (your personal choice of name brands).
2. Jif Chocolate Cheesecake Hazelnut
3. Butter
4. Tortilla (Flour works best)
A non stick pan the size of the tortilla.

Lightly Butter Tortilla on one side. On the other side spread generous portion of PeanutButter. Place in the pan in low temperatures. butter side down. While that is warming. Take another Tortilla spread a generous portion of Jif Chocolate Cheesecake Hazelnut place Jif side on top PeanutButter side. By this time the PeanutButter side should be melting and the tortilla slightly browning. Flip. Let the other side slightly brown.
Place on a plate and use a pizza cutter to slice it. If you want it extra sweet sprinkle with powered sugar.
