White Christmas! |
One of the classic christmas songs, the best song ever written. I have always loved this song and thought it to be one of the best songs ever written. It brings to mind, all that is good about the holiday season and that even when you are not the religion of the time the true meaning of Christmas is what it is really about. If you have an understanding of that in life, you win. What is the true meaning of Christmas? Presents? Money? Possessions? Food in abundance? Family? Food? Poverty? Changes?
Life? Diamond? Gold? Houses? Cars? Money? What is the true meaning of Christmas for you.
I learned very young in life, what it meant to me, Maria Kamon. I wish you this year 2016, that you learn what it really means to you?
Dreaming White Christmas! |
Irving Berlin wrote the lyrics to "White Christmas" in 1940. Bing Crosby, who starred in the 1942 movie "Holiday Inn" with Fred Astaire, sang the song for the movie, on the radio and recorded it for Decca on May 29, 1942.
Being Jewish, Berlin could draw only on what he remembered of Christmas celebrations in his neighborhood during his childhood. When he auditioned the song in 1941, he expressed concern that it lacked something. However, Bing Crosby assured him that the song would be a hit. "White Christmas" remains Bing Crosby's top-selling recording and the top-selling Christmas single of all time as of May 2015.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
